FAQ:

Q: How do I set an image as my desktop background?
A: First you must download the wallpaper by clicking the appropriate screen resolution link below the wallpaper. The image will load in a new tab or window. In Internet Explorer, right click on the image and then click "Set as Background". In Firefox, right click the image and select "Set As Desktop Background". In Chrome, you must right click and save the image to a known location, such as your Desktop, then find the file and right click it, then select "Set as desktop background".

Q: How do I determine my screen resolution?
A: Click here for your screen resolution... If that doesn't work -- In Windows XP, right click on your desktop and go to "Properties", click the "Settings" tab, on the bottom left of the panel you will see your current screen resolution in pixels. In Windows Vista or 7, right click your screen, select "Screen Resolution", and you will see the current resolution. Note: The current screen resolution might not be your native screen resolution. If it is not set to your screen's native resolution you will not see an optimal picture. To find your native resolution, google your display's model number and look for the resolution in the specifications. In Windows Vista/7, the native resolution should be listed as "Recommended".

Q: Why can't I find high resolution wallpapers to fit my screen's resolution?
A: Free users are restricted to wallpapers with horizontal resolutions of 1280 and under. For high resolution, HD, and Multi-Monitor wallpapers, please consider subscribing to our Premium Service. In addition to higher resolutions, Premium service includes exclusive wallpapers, iPhone wallpapers, no ads, and custom requests.

Q: Why should I have to pay for high resolution and multi-monitor images?
A: We understand that you may be hesitant to pay for desktop wallpapers. At Third Dimension Images we set out to create a wallpaper site that is truly a step above the rest. All of our images are, in our opinion, high quality, and technically superb (focus, resolution, noise, exposure - Please see our samples!). If an image doesn't meet those standards, it will not be posted to the site. They are also all original images, taken by our team of photographers, using state of the art equipment. We have searched widely on the internet to find another wallpaper site that equals these standards, and have not found one. By subscribing to our Premium Service you are helping to support our team and our site. The cost of hosting ultra-high resolution images in demand is significant, as is the cost of equipment, travel, and time for our team to bring you these images. By subscribing you will also enjoy exclusive wallpapers, iPhone wallpapers, no ads, and custom requests. We sincerely appreciate your support should you decide to subscribe or buy individual wallpapers. If you like our service, but do not require the Premium Service level, please share the site with your friends so more people can enjoy Third Dimension Images!

Q: Can I see a Free Sample Wallpaper?
A: Yes! We understand that it is hard to pay for a product when you cannot see it first. Unfortunately with digital images it is impossible to show one without inherently giving it away. Because of this we have selected two of our wallpapers to be samples. These images are indicative of the quality you will see with all of our images. While all digital pictures vary to some degree in terms of technical perfection, you can rest assured that all of our images meet or exceed the quality represented by these samples. If you do not think so, please contact us.

Q: How do I set a Multi-Monitor wallpaper to stretch across both monitors?
A: Unfortunately Windows is not configured to automatically stretch a wide wallpaper across both screens. A fairly easy, and free way of making this happen it to use Firefox when loading the images on this site. When you have selected your resolution, and the full image has loaded in the browser, right click and select "Set As Desktop Background". A box will pop up with options of how to set the background. To have the wallpaper span properly across your screens, select the "Tile" option from the drop down menu. Click "OK" and check to see that your wallpaper is set correctly. If this does not work, or you do not see the dialog box with the options, try upgrading to a newer version of Firefox. There are other methods of doing this without Firefox, please Google "multi-monitor desktop wallpaper" to search for more options. A powerful program that handles this task, and many other multi-display functions is called UltraMon. It is not free, however.
